Our popular Peacehaven shop stocks a selection of furniture, clothing, homeware, books and children’s toys. The team are looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to join them. You’ll gain experience and make friends all while raising vital funds for your local hospice.

 

Where: 170 South Coast Road, Peacehaven, BN10 8JH

When: Monday – Saturday 9am to 5pm

Usual minimum commitment: Weekly morning or afternoon shift   

What you’ll be doing:

Assisting the Manager with the smooth running of the shop. Duties to include:

  • Preparing stock ready for sale
  • Refilling and creating displays throughout shops and in window
  • Light cleaning of counters, clothes rails & dusting of stock
  • Serving customers, using cash register, accepting donations
  • Signing up new Gift Aid donors

Your skills and abilities  

  • Friendly manner – good with people  
  • Retail experience is always welcomed but not essential as training will be given  
  • An Interest in stylish clothing, books, records, fashion is also welcomed- we always need people with an eye for something special!   
  • You may be required to stand for long periods –Please let us know if you have mobility problems

Expectations: 

  • To attend Martlets Welcome day and participate in any Martlets training relevant to the role 
  • You will need to be reliable, flexible and willing to assist the manager  
  • Be committed to good customer service  
  • Willing to take instructions  
  • Work as part of a team of staff and volunteers
