We are opening a new shop on Western Road, and we’re looking for enthusiastic, friendly people to join us at this exciting time. You’ll be with us from the beginning, supporting the manager in getting the shop looking great for opening in October. The shop will sell everything from furniture to clothing, vinyl, home-ware, books and children’s toys. So, if you want to be in the centre of the city, meeting new people and changing lives, come and join the team.

 

Where: Martlets Shop, 71 Western Road, Brighton

When: Seven days a week 09.00-5pm

Usual minimum commitment: Weekly morning or afternoon session 

What you’ll be doing:

Assisting the Manager with preparing the shop for opening and the ongoing smooth running of the shop.

  • Preparing the shop ready for opening
  • Assisting with any launch preparations
  • Preparing stock ready for resale
  • Refilling and creating displays throughout shops and in window
  • Cleaning counters, clothes rails & dusting of stock
  • Serving customers, using cash register, accepting donations
  • Signing up new Gift Aid donors

Your skills and abilities

  • Friendly manner – good with people
  • Retail experience is always welcomed but not essential as training will be given
  • An Interest in clothing, books, records, fashion is also welcomed
  • You may be required to stand for long periods –Let us know if you have mobility problems
