Our friendly team at our vibrant London Road shop are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join them. You’ll sell everything from retro clothing to vinyl, homeware, books and children’s toys. It’s a great place to gain experience, meet new people and support a local charity.

 

Where: Martlets Shop, 89/90 London Road, Brighton

When: Monday, Tuesday or Sunday

Usual minimum commitment: Weekly morning or afternoon shift (four hours)   

What you’ll be doing:

To assist the Manager with the smooth running of the shop.

  • Preparing stock ready for sale
  • Refilling and creating displays throughout shops and in window
  • Light cleaning of counters, clothes rails & dusting of stock
  • Serving customers, using cash register, accepting donations
  • Signing up new Gift Aid donors

Your skills and abilities

  • Friendly manner – good with people
  • Retail experience is always welcomed but not essential as training will be given
  • An Interest in vintage clothing, books, records, fashion is also welcomed- we always need people with an eye for something special!
  • You may be required to stand for long periods –Let us know if you have mobility problems 

Expectations:

  • To attend Martlets Welcome day and participate in any Martlets training relevant to the role
  • You will need to be reliable, flexible and willing to assist the manager
  • Be committed to good customer service
  • Work as part of a team of staff and volunteers
