Our Promise to You

Here at Martlets we strive to share inspiring stories and news about our nurses, volunteers, patients and families so our loyal supporters can see the life-changing hospice care they make possible every day.

Our work is supported throughout the year by fundraising campaigns, special events, and athletic challenges. These fundraising activities help Martlets provide excellent care to people living with terminal illness in Brighton and Hove and neighbouring areas. Without these financial asks, our care simply wouldn’t be possible.

It is our mission to inspire our community to support us by giving their time, or a regular donation, to help people do the things they love with the time they have. With our supporters’ help, we can give people living with terminal illness hope, purpose and possibility.

As part of our pledge to you, we promise to contact you in the way that suits your preferences. Whether you like receiving letters or prefer an email or text, we’ll contact you in the way you have indicated you would like to hear from us.

Martlets Fundraising Communication Standards:

  • We will not sell or give your contact details to any other organisation
  • Your details are safe with us – we will only allow your information to be used by suppliers working on our behalf
  • Every three years, we’ll contact you to make sure you are still happy to hear from us in the way you have requested
  • We never share your personal information with any other charities or organisations in the UK or overseas, unless required to do so by law
  • If you have already agreed to receive mail from us, we will always include the option to ‘opt out’ of any future contact and tell you where and how you can do this
  • We will only contact you via phone, email or text message if you have given explicit permission to do so. You may opt out of these communication channels at any time
  • We are always careful and conscientious in our marketing approach, particularly when engaging with vulnerable people and individuals affected by terminal illness

If you would like to change the way you hear from us at any time, you can do so by emailing [email protected] or calling our fundraising office on 01273 747455.
