John Haliday

14 Jun 1933 - 18 Sep 2018

John Haliday was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to all. Always happy, with a smile on his face, a joke to be told and a story you hadn't heard yet. A man who could be summed up by once being introduced by a 10 year old neighbour as, "this is whistling Johnny – he's a friend to us all." John was a man who lived life to the fullest and enjoyed many varied interests – gardening, singing, volunteering, travelling – but above all, he loved to be around family and friends. If anyone was ever asked to describe John, the same words would echo, such as, kind, funny, a great raconteur, a true character and a pleasure to be around. In short, John was a man that everyone was proud to have in their lives. He'll be forever held in the hearts of his loving wife, Robin, and his four daughters, as well as all the many other friends and family he leaves behind. Rest in peace, John.
