This course is for psychotherapists and counsellors working with interpreters and bilingual clients.
Areas covered include:-
- Working effectively as a clinician with an interpreter
- How clients’ multilingualism can be a therapeutic asset for e.g. the expression of emotion, memory recall, processing of trauma
- Holding the tensions between cultural sensitivity and safeguarding
- Supervision – building the confidence of supervisees to work with cultural and linguistic sensitivity
