Our Bereavement Service offers support to the family and friends of patients who have received care from Martlets - whether that's in the hospice itself or out in the community.

Individual support

Our expert team of counsellors and trained volunteers will do their best to support your individual needs. We provide both one-off and on-going sessions with our counsellors, which are held at the hospice. Our team of specially trained bereavement volunteers are also able to visit you in your home.

Time to Remember

Time to Remember is an event we hold at the hospice to allow family and friends to remember their loved ones. It is also an opportunity to meet others bereaved around the same time as you and to join in remembering your loved ones together. We will invite you to a Time to Remember event around 6 months after the death of your loved one.

Social Evenings

Launched in 2017, we are holding monthly social evenings as an opportunity to meet others who have been bereaved, to make friends and to find a way to enjoy moments at a time of deep pain and loss. We will invite all local friends and family to come to our monthly social evening around 6 months after the loss of their loved one.
