Does your CV need a New Year boost? Are you thinking about returning to the workplace and want to brush up your skills? Perhaps you’re looking for work experience to help you on the road to your career.
If so Martlets has launched its New Year New You campaign to find volunteers like you to help in its nine shops across the Brighton & Hove area. By giving some of your spare time you’ll be investing in your future and learning essential life skills important for your career.
Allison Martin from the hospice’s Retail Team said, “Our New Year New You campaign is all about encouraging people to improve their skills by simply giving a few hours to Martlets each week.
“Volunteering in our shops is great fun and it’s a fantastic opportunity to really understand how retail works. You’ll be part of one of our warm and friendly teams, quickly building confidence to gain experience in visual merchandising, customer service and sales.
“If you have some time to spare then it’s an excellent way to get involved with a local charity. You’ll be hands-on right from the start and will see how your efforts really make a difference to families in the Brighton and Hove area.
“You’ll learn so much from the experience, with transferable skills that will be fantastic if you are looking for a career in retail but will build your confidence regardless of where your future takes you.
“This could be your first taste of the working world so it’s an enjoyable way to learn about working in teams and customer service; which are important for all jobs.
Martlets is looking for volunteers aged 16 and above to work in its shops, which are based in Brighton, Hove, Lewes, Peacehaven, Rottingdean, and Woodingdean.
