Martlets are proud to announce they have won the ‘Specialist Retail Outlet of the Year’ award at the Hospice UK Retail Conference 2017.
The award is in recognition for the innovative ‘pop-up’ shop, which was launched by the charity in Brighton’s shopping mall, Churchill Square, as part of Snowdogs by the Sea sculpture trail.
The pop- up shop was set up to sell Snowdogs merchandise and provide information to compliment the Snowdogs by the Sea trail last autumn. The range of merchandise sold by the pop-up included ceramic figurines, clothing, stationery and a variety of soft toys.
The pop- up shop was hugely successfully and played a key role in making the Snowdogs campaign such a triumph for the hospice. During the eight weeks it was open it sold £60,000 worth of merchandise and received £900 in cash donations.
Sally Brighton, Director of Income Generation, said: “ We’re incredibly pleased to receive this award from Hospice UK. Our team of volunteers and our managers, Graham and Lesley, worked incredibly hard to make the pop-up shop a success. It’s brilliant to receive wider recognition for all of their hard work.”
