The Martlets Good Vibrations Choir will be bringing tuneful Christmas cheer to many events over the festive season. The forty-five members include hospice patients, family members, staff and volunteers who sing under the musical direction of local singer and voice coach Aneesa Chaudhry.

All of the choir members have a personal connection to the hospice and many find group singing to be a positive experience; allowing them to make new friends and gain support whilst raising valuable funds for Martlets. So far this year the choir has raised more than £18,000.

Ann Borg, the Choir Co-ordinator said, “Christmas can be quite a hard time for people who have lost someone, but equally there are moments of joy and I think that there’s just something about performing some of the Christmas songs that bring people some happy memories.

I work for Martlets and look after all of the day services for our out-patients. I’ve been involved with the choir since the beginning and I’ve seen how much it has helped people, both those who sing with us but also those who come to see us perform.

It’s a lovely thing to be involved with.”
