Gifts in Wills generate just over £1 million of our annual income. Many people who give us money have been personally affected by the care we give. Whether the gift you can leave us is £100 or £250,000 it will make a difference.
Val said: “I’ve been involved with the Martlets since it opened 12 years ago. My husband was cared for at Coppercliff (the predecessor to The Martlets Hospice). Before that I’d cared for him at home, so to know that he was in the best possible place with wonderful care on offer was very comforting.
Our children visited for as long as they needed to and I was able to spend his last night with him. The staff were incredibly supportive, even after I’d gone home I knew I could contact them if I needed to.
Everyone does such a marvellous job at the Martlets and I think it’s an ideal place for you to be cared for at the end of your life. I know funding is an issue for the Hospice so I wanted to make sure my little bit would help the Hospice carry on their work. It was easy to make a gift in my Will and I was able to use a solicitor who supported the Hospice so there was no charge either.”
