Our work enjoys the support of many charitable Trusts and Foundations. Trust donors have been essential to the establishment, continuation and growth of the Hospice. They have supported all aspects of our operations from the original capital appeal to running costs, patient services, new service developments and equipment needs.
Here are some recent examples of the work supported by charitable Trusts and Foundations.
Hospice at Home Service
In January 2012, we were delighted to receive a donation of £25,000 from The Pebble Trust to support the costs of providing hospice care in people's own homes. This service was also helped by donations made in 2011 from the Richard Radcliffe Trust, the Albert Hunt Trust, the BDNA Trust, the Sandra Charitable Trust and the Institute of Our Lady of Mercy.
InPatient Unit
The Lisbet Rausing Fund at Sussex Community Foundation gave a generous grant of £5,000 towards the costs of InPatient Unit care in December 2011.
InPatient Unit Chairs
Our appeal to purchase three new chairs for use by InPatients was supported by a grant of £1,165 from the ACT Foundation in December 2011.
Syringe Driver Servicing
The cost of servicing our syringe drivers which are used to deliver medication to patients has been covered in 2011 and 2010 thanks to the generosity of the Robert Mayhew Charitable Trust.
Crockery and Cutlery
A number of donors helped us to buy new crockery and cutlery between 2006 and 2010 including The Worshipful Company of Cutlers, the Roger Raymond Charitable Trust and the Simpson Charitable Trust.
We are supported by national, local and personal private Trusts with help ranging from one off and regular gifts to grants over three years and from £20 to over £20,000.
We are very grateful to all the charitable Trusts and Foundations who have supported our work and enabled us to respond to the needs of our patients and their loved ones.
We are always looking to build relationships with new Trust donors and we have a range of projects and services for Trusts to support ranging from aspects of patient care services to specific items of equipment. Please use the link below to view our Wish List which details just some of the items that can be supported.
